"The Meteor"

"Hey Kerwin, do you think you could come over? I want to introduce you to my new girlfriend, Anna," a young man no older than twenty said into his cell phone. "Will there be cake?" a semi deep voice said out of the phone. "No, Kerwin, no cake," the young man said. "Oh wow Drew, you invite me to your house and not have cake? Major disrespect," Kerwin said slyly. "Your coming over," Drew said orderingly. "Oh alright, what time?" "Eight, and for the love of god look presentable, I really like this girl." "Don't I always," Kerwin said with a chuckle. "I swear if you wear that red hoody I'm going to make sure you never write, draw or play video games again," Drew said with aggression in his tone. "Alright, alright, simmer down princess gee-sh," Kerwin said laughing. "Well I'm going to look for some 'presentable' clothes see you later." "Your going to play Annihilation aren't you?" "You know me so well, by Drew." "Hey wait don't mess this-" Drew got cut off. "Son of a... He hung up the phone," said Drew when there was a flash of light that came from outside. Drew walked over to the window of his second floor town house. As he made his way to the window he tripped over one of is many game controllers. "Dang it Marcus how many times do I have to tell you to put these up after your done with them." he said to himself as he reached the window. There was another flash of light and Drew saw a meteor plummeting towards the Earth! It passed right by Drew's window, he could feel the heat radiating off the meteor when it passed. He saw people in the streets below scrambling for safety. There was aloud bang and as though the air was a great arm it punched Drew back into the wall and he fell into nothingness, unconscious...

When he came to, he was nearly in total darkness. Drew picked up his hand and placed it to the back of his head where it was throbbing. He felt a golf ball sized bump and groaned in pain. He fumbled to his feet and made his way back to the window to try to figure out why was it so dark, he could have sworn that it was just noon. When he got the window the sight that he saw was terrifying. There was a hundred foot wall surrounding his building and four other buildings around him. He looked down into the street, the street was totally deserted and there was no meteor...

There was a scream, an extremely loud scream that came from the building across from his. Then he saw it, a tall inhumanly figure was pulling a writhing girl out of the building. She was kicking and screaming, blood all over her face. The creature looked repulsive, yet Drew couldn't find it within him to look away. A few seconds later he realized that this was a grave mistake. The creature looked up, right into Drew's eyes, it stared for a few seconds the it pointed at him. Drew peered over the window and saw two more Inhumans looking up at him. He knew what was going to happen, he knew that they were coming for him. He span around and ran for the Katana he had up on a mantle in his living room. He took it down gripping it as though it was a lifeline, he stood back against the wall next to the door waiting for his fate... Seconds seemed like hours, his heart pounding a mile a minute. When suddenly there was a flash of white light outside of his door. The door started rattling violently as though there was a fight going on outside. Then it got quit, dreadfully quit, all of a sudden the door flew opened and Drew was repelled off the wall into the middle of the room still clutching the Katana for for dear life. Then a female voice said, "Come with me if you want to live." Drew some how recognize the voice so he followed it blindly, walking out of the door and into the unknown...
