The Divine Chapter 10B by ~kajex:iconkajex:

The Divine

Chapter 10 B

"B.H.E.A."

---------------POV Marcus------------

I flew away from my oldest friend banking left to head north. I'm glad I configured Borg to transform into a hoverboard or else I would have been royally screwed. I wonder if he is mad, probably is knowing him, but I had to do what, what I to do to save my sister.

FLASHBACK

"Marcus!" his sister screamed being taken away. Marcus raced from his room pistols in hand, but it was too late she had been taken by and unknown assailant. Marcus flopped on couch beating his tears back. He looked up to see a note nailed to the opposite wall. He got up and read the note written in fine calligraphy.

We have your sister and we are not giving her back until you fulfill ALL of our commands. You are very skilled at what you do and lately you have been exhibiting so very interesting changes and we want you to do a job for us. You will be contacted in a few days with your mission.

Your Lord and Master-

Vent.

Marcus crumpled the note and left his family winter home and left for Atlanta to be back with Drew for the new term.

END FLASHBACK.

I continued flying north for three hours, it was dark and the ocean looked like a bottom less pit of despair and emptiness. I reached my destination at nine fifteen, the secret caves of the coast of North Carolina . The waves were rushing against the cave walls as I flew deep into the cove. I reached an ominous black steel door I can see sharks swimming in the shallow cove's water. "Identify yourself," a computerized said. "Marcus Tobi," I said carefully hovering over the water trying not to get Borg wet. I haven't installed his under water gear and I don't think her would appreciated me shorting him out and I wouldn't like getting soaked, so it's a win-win for both of us. The doors to the cave opened slowly and I hovered into the dark base corridor. I flew into down the corridor and came onto another door. "Password," the computerized voice said again. "This is new," I said out loud. "Password," the computerized voice said again. "What password?" I asked knowing I would not receive and answer. "Password, or be terminated by the Alliance ," a voice said not computerized. "Open the damn door Edwin," I said demandingly. There was a long pause and I expected to be roasted to a crisp any second; the Alliance does not like imposters or spies. "Sorry mister Tobi we had to check," a human voice said now, my partner, Edwin. "Just open the door, damn it," I said impatiently now. The door opened and the warm air of the heated underground base hit my face; a welcomed embrace from the cold outdoors. I flew strait to the command room now to receive my next mission even though I can guess what it will be. I entered the room and was greeted with faces of Edwin, Boss and a new comer. The man was wearing a black hooded cloak and a sniper riffle sitting across the desk. "Who's he," I asked rudely sitting down taking my may hat off. "Names' Heleon," he said in a heavy British accent. "He's been assigned to us by one of our benefactors. The job is so important the benefactor wants three of you on the job, you need to take out these," Boss said throwing a slew of pictures on the desk. I looked at them and recognized half of the people in the pictures. Taylor, Drew's old friend, Anna, Drew's dead girlfriend, Shell and Blue Eyes, my failure to exterminate, and Kerwin, with sitting up in a tree sketching. There were four others I didn't recognize in various places; Big Ben was a back drop of one of the pictures so England, Japanese was sprawled all over the back drop of another picture and Giza, I knew that one because I've seem the Pyramids of Egypt. A blonde girl with blue eyes was in the England picture, a black haired girl with purple eyes was in the Egypt picture and a Japanese guy was in the last picture with gray eyes. "In light of your last failure, Marcus, they have decided to give you another chance," Boss said to me then turned to Heleon. "Good work on the girl, to bad you weren't able to dump the body," he said. "Wait that was you who killed Anna?" I asked knowing the answer. He nodded and I could see him smiling under his hood, he was pleased even though he didn't fully complete the mission. "Good job. You could have killed Drew if you wanted to," I said. "Why didn't you?" I added bluntly. "Wasn't part of my mission," he replied in his smug British accent. "Hmph, whatever," I said getting my hoverboard off the floor. Borg transformed back into his usual tux wearing self and looked around the room at all the faces. He then turned to me with a questioning look on his face. I hadn't fixed his voice box since the last um 'incident' let's say and he has been making facial expressions ever since. "He's Heleon, killed Anna," I said shortly.  He nodded and smirked jumping on my shoulder and stood there waiting for Boss to speak. "You leave tomorrow," Boss said. "Edwin you will go with Marcus, Heleon I have a special assignment for you."  Heleon nodded and left the room with out a word. "Isn't he going to get his mission?" I asked folding my arms. "He'll get it later. Now you two are going on a recon mission in Texas ," Boss explained. "What's in Texas ?" Edwin asked. "Our benefactor has instructed me to send to bounty hunters to take out this man," Boss replied showing us picture he pulled out of a manila folder. He was a black man about my age give or take a year a mustache and in a trench coat and dress pant. "Detective Bill Morgan, been giving our benefactor trouble in this area and eh need to be taken out as soon possible, but our benefactor wants to see if he can be used first," he said tossing the picture on the table. "What kind of trouble?" Edwin asked picking up the picture. "He's been coming a bit to close to our benefactors plan and is to smart for his own good, but the benefactor thinks he may be of some use, if not you are instructed to kill him," Boss said bluntly. "What is the 'benefactor's' name?" I asked curious.

"Ventis Aerial."

My eyes widened. "Vent!" I exclaimed. "I have to go see you in the morning and be ready or die Ed," I said hurried and left the room in haste. I ran to my room and slammed the door. I walked to the wall and punched it with all my might and I left a hole in the wall the size of my head and Borg snickered. I kicked at him only for him to jump out of the way and me kicking the wall, hard. Borg hopped up on my bed while I hopped on one foot like Tom in that old cartoon "Tom and Jerry." I flopped on my bed as Borg jumped off. I drifted into a deep sleep thinking of Morgan.

----------------------End POV------------------

MORNING

Marcus woke up at six and got up off the bed and stretched. He woke a disgruntle Borg who glared at him and went back to sleep. Marcus shook his head as he made his way to the bathroom. He took a shower, put on his clothes and left the room, grabbing Borg on his way out. "You're late," Edwin said to him as he exited the room. "Maybe you're early," Marcus said back snidely. Edwin shrugged and smiled, "Let's get out of here." Marcus nodded and opted to use the front door this time not wanting to go through the cave entrance in fear of getting cold and drenched in salt water. Marcus and Edwin made there way to the front door, but was blocked bye Heleon. "Boss told me to let you know failure will not be tolerated on this crucial mission," he said in his thick British accent. "I though it was just recon," Ed said perplexed. "Change of plan, in light of recent events, you two are now to apprehend "Detective Morgan."" "Bill Morgan isn't his real name?" Ed asked. "We are unclear. Boss is meeting up with Vent as we speak, the matter was so important that Boss had to go see him in person," Heleon explained. Marcus shrugged. "So apprehend, but not kill, gotcha," he said pushing past Heleon his anger welling up at the mention of Vent's name. "Oh and one more thing, beware of the shadows," Heleon said cryptically. Marcus stared for a second then let it go and left with out another word. Edwin followed Marcus quickly in fear of being left. "Hey, Marcus wait up," Edwin called. "What," he demanded.

"What was that about?"
"Nothing, call the craft and let's go."

Edwin nodded sensing Marcus's mood and pulled out a pair of keys. He held it in the air and it resonated a brilliant blue color and a ship the rose from the ocean. It was chrome and sleek, two person back to front passenger. It landed in front of them and they got on, Marcus flying. "You gotta love the Alliance ," Edwin muttered to himself as Marcus took off west heading to Texas . As they flew away, deep within the caves Heleon stood over a blood drenched Boss smirking. Boss's throat had been cut from behind, the work of a professional…
